Dr. Akef completed his Diploma in General Medicine (MD) in 2000, Post Graduate Specialization in Urology (MS) and PhD (Urology) from Rostov State Medical University, Russia. He Specializes in stone disease, urinary tract infection, prostate disease, Uro-Oncology, men’s health, andrology, paediatric urology and female urology.
His clinical interest lies in :
Endourology and minimally invasive surgery (Ureteroscopy, RIRS, PCNL), Laser Lithotripsy, Extracorporeal shockwave Lithotripsy (ESWL), Transurethral resection of Prostate (TURP – Laser surgery).
Benign Prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), Acute and chronic prostatitis.
Diagnosis and treatment for kidneys, bladder, prostate and testicular cancer.
Andrology, Male Infertility, Erectile dysfunction.
UTI, incontinence and over active bladder.
Dr. Akef has worked as Specialist Urologist in government and private hospitals in Lebanon until 2008, followed by his continuing tenure with NMC Healthcare. He is an Active International member of the European Association of Urology (EAU), European Society of Sexual Medicine (ESSM), Active member of Lebanese Urology Society (LUS) and Active member of Emirates Urological Society (EUS).
