Dr. Assia Khammar brings over 15 years of experience in pediatric endocrinology, with extensive expertise in managing diabetes, obesity, and a wide range of endocrine disorders in children. Prior to joining NMC, she worked in the Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology in France, where she provided both inpatient and outpatient care and actively contributed to clinical teaching and intern education.
She completed her postgraduate training in General Pediatrics, Pediatric Endocrinology, and Diabetology at Marseille University, France. In addition, she holds a Master’s degree (Master 2) in Nutrition and Food Safety and has received specialized training in therapeutic patient education in diabetology.
Dr. Khammar served as an Attending Physician in France from 2017 to 2025. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Physician Coordinator at a pediatric subacute care and rehabilitation center specializing in obesity and diabetes (2012–2017). She also held the role of Senior Resident at La Timone Children’s Hospital, Marseille, within a multidisciplinary pediatric department.
Throughout her career, Dr. Khammar has managed a large cohort of pediatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings and has been actively involved in multidisciplinary, individual, and group-based therapeutic education programs.
