Sumana Hegde joined NMC Healthcare in May 2015 and played a key role in establishing Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in Abu Dhabi at NMC Royal Hospital, Khalifa City. As a highly experienced Rehabilitation Specialist, she brings extensive expertise in Pain Management and Rehabilitation in Abu Dhabi, helping patients recover mobility and improve their quality of life.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy from Manipal University, India, and has further specialized with an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration and a Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Management from Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai.
With over 10 years of experience, she has worked extensively in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in Abu Dhabi, treating patients with neurological and orthopedic conditions, including joint replacements, arthroscopy recovery, and musculoskeletal injuries. Recognized as an expert in Physical Medicine Abu Dhabi, her areas of interest include back and neck disorders, muscle and tendon injuries, and post-surgical rehabilitation.
Before joining NMC, one of the best Rehabilitation Center in Abu Dhabi, she played a key role in establishing a physiotherapy center at Infosys in Mangalore, India. There, she also conducted voluntary ergonomic sessions for corporate employees. Her commitment to patient care and rehabilitation excellence has positioned her as a leading expert in the field.
Currently, she continues to provide specialized care at the physical Medicine Clinic in Abu Dhabi, ensuring patients receive evidence-based treatments for optimal recovery.
