Dr. Maziar Nikberg is a highly experienced Senior Consultant General Surgeon with 19 years of specialist clinical experience in general and colorectal surgery. He holds European Board Certification in Coloproctology, Swedish Board Certification in General Surgery, and a PhD from Uppsala University.
Dr. Nikberg has extensive expertise in advanced colorectal surgery, including the surgical management of colorectal cancer, rectal cancer, complex benign colorectal disease, diverticular disease, proctology, avancerad fistula surgery and latest treatment of fistulas with adipose tissue treatment, abdominal wall reconstruction, and hernia surgery. His clinical practice includes high-volume operative work with advanced open, laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques from a high volume hospital in Sweden.
He has held senior clinical and academic leadership positions, including Head of the Colorectal Unit at Västmanlands Hospital in Sweden. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Nikberg is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at Uppsala University and serves as a robotic colorectal surgery proctor (teacher) and lecturer.
