With over 30 years of extensive experience in pulmonology and respiratory medicine, Dr. Jassem Abdou brings a wealth of expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex pulmonary conditions and sleep disorders. He is a graduate of the University of Lille, in France, holding the French Board Certification in Pulmonary Diseases.
He has held senior leadership positions as Consultant Pulmonologist and Head of Department across leading healthcare institutions in the UAE, including Advance Cure Diagnostic Centre, Reem Hospital, Health point, and Zayed Military Hospital.
Dr. Abdou has developed advanced expertise in interventional pulmonology, including bronchoscopy with bronchial and transbronchial biopsy, pleural procedures such as thoracentesis and chest tube insertion, as well as comprehensive pulmonary function testing. He is also highly experienced in the management of sleep disorders, including CPAP and BiPAP therapy.
Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in both inpatient and outpatient care, delivering high-quality, patient-centered treatment while utilizing the latest evidence-based medical practices. His international training and long-standing clinical experience reflect his commitment to excellence in respiratory and sleep medicine.
Dr Jassem Abdou has served as a teaching faculty member for the Arab Board of Internal Medicine and is an active member of the American Thoracic Society, the European and Emirates Respiratory Society, and has authored peer-reviewed publications in pulmonary and sleep medicine, including research on cystic fibrosis, COPD epidemiology and sleep apnea syndromes.
