Dr Gourish completed his MBBS at Government Medical College, Miraj, India. He went on to pursue his DNB in Ophthalmology at K. J. Somaiya Medical College and Research Centre, Mumbai, followed by a Fellowship in Phacoemulsification at the Asian Eye Institute, Mumbai, India in 2022. In 2024, he further enhanced his expertise by earning an MBA in Healthcare Management from D. Y. Patil University, Mumbai.
Before joining NMC Specialty Hospital Al Ain as a Specialist Ophthalmology, Dr Gourish served at K. J. Somaiya Medical College, Mumbai, in a similar role. During his tenure, he performed cataract surgeries—including phacoemulsification and SICS—managed cases of diabetic retinopathy and administered intravitreal injections. He also assisted in complex ophthalmic surgeries and provided emergency trauma care.
