Dr. Zialyazan Sabbagh is a highly experienced General, Laparoscopic, and Trauma Surgeon with over 25 years of expertise in complex abdominal, colorectal, and emergency surgery. He currently serves as the Trauma Medical Director at NMC Royal Hospital, Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, where he leads trauma care services, oversees surgical quality standards, and supports the delivery of advanced, patient-centred surgical care.
Dr. Sabbagh graduated from Rostov State Medical University in Russia in 1997 and completed his surgical residency at the Rostov Oncological National Centre, where he earned his Ph.D. in Oncological Surgery in 2001.
He began his surgical career in Damascus, Syria, before relocating to the UAE in 2004. He subsequently spent 12 years at Mafraq Hospital as a Senior Surgeon specialising in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. He later joined Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, where he served as Senior General and Trauma Surgeon and Chair of the Trauma Committee until 2024.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sabbagh has developed extensive experience in managing complex surgical cases, providing emergency surgical interventions, and contributing to the advancement of trauma care and surgical excellence in Abu Dhabi.
