Dr. Sunada Subramanian is a Board-Certified Specialist Ophthalmologist with over 14 years of progressive experience in comprehensive eye care, specializing in glaucoma and cataract management.
She completed her MBBS from JSS Medical College, Mysore in 2010 and her DNB in Ophthalmology from K.G. Hospital and Postgraduate Medical Institute, Coimbatore in 2014. In 2018, she joined the prestigious Aravind Eye Hospital in Coimbatore, one of Asia’s largest eye care networks where she gained extensive experience in managing complex cataracts and intraocular lens implantation. She subsequently pursued subspecialty training in glaucoma and earned her Fellowship from the All India Ophthalmological Society (FAICO Glaucoma) Dr. Sunada is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow; FRCS Glasgow and a Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology, FICO, UK.
Her clinical expertise spans the diagnosis and surgical management of anterior segment disorders with special focus in cataract and glaucoma using advanced microsurgical and minimally invasive techniques. She also has experience in the evaluation and management of posterior segment diseases including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and retinal vascular disorders. A dedicated mentor and surgical trainer, she has guided numerous postgraduate students and international fellows in cataract and glaucoma surgery. Notably, she is one of the few surgeons in the region to perform Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgeries (MIGS).
