Dr Sara Martinez Martos is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon from Spain, with special interest in hip and knee replacement surgery and the management of sports injuries.
She did her training in Orthopaedic Surgery in Barcelona, Spain, in one of the most prestigious hospitals, with the leading orthopaedic surgeons in the country. She gained a lot of expertise, from managing elite professional athletes to any type of Orthopaedic and Trauma conditions.
Dr. Sara continued her training in the USA with Professor Roy Sanders,head of the Florida Orthopaedic Institute, and completed a total of 4 fellowship programs in Australia in very prestigious hospitals and orthopaedic centers. She sub-specialised in hip and knee replacement surgery , sports orthopaedics and traumatology. She gained expertise in the management of complex fractures of the upper and lower extremities , management of bone infections , primary and revision surgery of hip and knee replacement and the management of sports injuries.
She was working as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in her private practice in Marbella, Spain from 2015 to 2022 where she enjoyed improving the quality of life of her patients. She moved to Dubai in 2022, and has been working since, as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon.Given her background as a professional tennis player , Dr Sara has special interest in Sports Medicine and Sports Orthopaedics. She has been involved as a medical doctor in many tennis events such as the Davis Cup and the ATP and WTA Dubai Duty Free championship.
She understands the expectations of her patients and sports enthusiasts and enjoys helping them to recover from any injury with a smooth return to their sporting activities. She always prefers to start with a conservative management to the injury, if there is that medical possibility, such as recommending physical therapy or the use of regenerative medicine, in order to avoid or delay the surgery, like injections of Hyaluronic Acid or Platelet Rich Plasma in joints or inflammatory tendinous conditions.
She also manages fractures of the upper and lower extremities that require conservative or surgical management.
She welcomes everyone and all types of general orthopaedic conditions in her clinic. There is nothing more satisfying for Dr Sara than a pain free and happy patient.
