Dr Salem earned his MBBS from Ain Shams University in 2004. He went on to advance his medical training at the same university, obtaining a Master’s degree (MSc) in Neuropsychiatry in 2009, followed by an MD in Neurology in 2014.

Dr Salem began his professional career in 2005 in Egypt. Prior to joining NMC Specialty Hospital Al Ain as a Specialist Neurology, Dr Salem served in a government hospital in Al Ain, where he held a similar role and gained extensive clinical experience.

He further enhanced his expertise through international training programs, including the International Observation Program at the Neurological Institute, Cleveland Clinic (Epilepsy Center) in 2013. In 2016, he completed an observational fellowship in neurophysiology (NCS, EMG, and evoked potentials) at the University Hospital Inselspital Bern, Switzerland.
