Dr Sibiya graduated as a Medical Pracitioner from the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine in 2007. Throughout her undergraduate training her passion for paediatrics was nurtured. After completing her internship at Groote Schuur Hospital, and community service at Ngwelezana Hospital, she went on to becoming a medical officer at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital (RCWMCH).
The desire to pursue a career in paediatrics was cemented by the vast pathologies and expertise that she was exposed to at RCWMCH. Her formal training commenced at UKZN in 2012, where she obtained her Diploma in Child Health (2012), her Fellowship in Paediatrics (2017), and then her Masters in Medicine (2019). She then went on to spend some time raising her children whilst doing research in HIV, and worked as a consultant paediatrician at Harry Gwala Regional Hospital in Pietermaritzburg.
She had run her own private practice in the Howick and Pietermaritzburg area and established home visits in the surrounding areas. Her passion, and loving nature towards children is evident. She strives for wholistic care, and aims to treat patients’ the way she would want her own children to be treated.
