  • All aspects of specialist palliative care which is an approach that improves the quality of life for patients and families facing life-threatening illnesses by preventing and relieving suffering through early identification, assessment, and management of physical, psychosocial, and spiritual problems, affirming life and viewing death as a normal process, neither hastening nor postponing it. It's a team-based, holistic approach applicable early in serious illness, alongside life-prolonging treatments, offering support for patients to live actively and families during illness and bereavement.
  • I have an interest in all aspects of specialist palliative care but I have a keen interest to integrate the specialty more into non cancer life limiting illnesses.
  • With my family medicine CCT I can help holistically dealing with issues which do not fall only under the remit of specialist palliative care. This results in much better care for the patient.
  • When working in the UK I was a full time specialist in palliative care but also worked oncall as a GP (family medicine) for the ambulance service providing emergency care.
  • I am an Honorary Professor from Birmingham city university which focuses on improving workplace culture.
