He earned a Master of Rheumatology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in 2020, and completed a Fellowship in Rheumatology with the College of Medicine South Africa (CMSA) from 2018 to 2020. In 2019, he acquired the EULAR Certificate from the European League Against Rheumatism. He holds the MRCP (UK), which is a Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians in internal medicine, awarded in 2014. Additionally, he obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from the Faculty of Medicine at Omdurman Islamic University in Sudan in 2003.
