Dr. Mai Isam Alketbi is a triple board-certified Emirati Family Medicine Consultant with a total experience of 11 years. She has an interest in medical research, quality improvement, medical education, acute and chronic disease management and woman health.  She is triple board-certified family medicine consultant (Jordanian board on Aug 2018 ranked first, Arab board on April 2019 and MRCGP international on June 2019). She is also certified in Medical Quality (CMQ) from the American Board of Medical Quality (ABMQ) on October 2017. Moreover, she obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical & Health education from the University of Manchester on February 2022 and attended a course in Upskilling Program in Mental Health from the Department of Health (DOH), Abu Dhabi, UAE on August 2023. Furthermore, she. has completed a CTTTP accredited Tobacco Dependence Treatment training program in King Hussein Cancer Center on May 2024. Currently, she is enrolled in online Masters in diabetes care accredited by the University of Warwick since September 2023 where she has successfully completed the postgraduate diploma in diabetes care modules in November 2024.

She graduated and obtained MBBS degree from UAE University in Al Ain on June 2013 with the highest score in her class. She then competed a one-year internship (1st September 2013- 31st August 2014) in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), Abu Dhabi, UAE. She then completed a 4 years Family Medicine Residency program in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), Abu Dhabi, UAE (1st September 2014-2018) and ranked the first in her class. During her residency program, she was assigned as a chief resident and she was awarded with the best intern teacher for the year 2015-2016.

She worked in SEHA for 11 years where she was assigned different roles. She was a member of the Clinical Guidelines Committee and was assigned as the quality link and the chronic disease clinic physician in her clinic. She attended an ACLS instructor course and was a secondment doctor with the role of senior medical evaluator at the International Patient Center (IPC) at DOH since October 2024. She was involved in various public health promotion and awareness campaigns including cancer awareness, influenza vaccine etc.

She was assigned to be the team leader in the study “Seroprevalence of COVID-19 infection in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: a population-based cross-sectional study” by Dr. Ahmed R Alsuwaidi. She has three research article publications and her research work won multiple times in conferences. She is a chapter author in a child psychiatry Arabic book for Dr.Ahmad Almai “guide for parents & health professionals about child abuse”.
