- MS, FRCS(G), FRCS(E), FRCS(UGI), CCT-UK
- Consultant General, Upper GI and Bariatric surgery – UHNM, Stoke on Trent, UK – 10 years
- Fellowship in Oesophagogastric surgery – USC, Los Angeles, USA – 1.5 years
- Leadership positions in National organizations in the UK and India in Upper GI and Bariatric surgery
- Mentorship to surgical residents and fellowship programs in the UK
- Management experience – Clinical lead in Upper GI and Bariatric surgery, UHNM, UK.
- Currently pursuing an MBA (Healthcare) – University of Warwick, UK
Dr Balaji completed his medical school and postgraduate training in India prior to moving to the UK to pursue higher surgical training. On completion of his higher surgical training (CCT-UK) and a period of fellowship in Foregut surgery in the USA, he has practiced as a consultant general, upper GI and bariatric surgeon in India and the UK for over 17 years. He has worked in one of the busiest acute care hospitals in the UK (Royal Stoke University hospital, Stoke on Trent) for 10 years prior to moving to the UAE in 2023.
