Dr. Alessandro D’Afiero is a Pelvic Perineal Surgeon and a Urogynecologist. His proficiency in minimally invasive anatomical and functional reconstruction of the female pelvic floor is well-established. In the past ten years, he has completed over 3350 gynecologic surgical procedures (laparotomy, laparoscopic, vaginal) for both benign and malignant pathology. He graduated from the University of Naples, Italy, with a degree in medicine and surgery and a certificate in obstetrics and gynecology. In addition, he graduated from the University of Bari in Italy with a Master of Science in Health Systems Management. His professional career started at the San Camillo De Lellis Manfredonia Public Hospital in Foggia.
In addition to being the founder and trainer of the Highly Specialized Pelvic Center at the Public Hospital Monaldi in Naples, Italy, he was also the director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Public Hospital Giuseppe Tatarella Cerignola in Foggia, Italy; the director of the Maternity and Childhood Department at the ASL Foggia; the director of the Urogynecology Unit at the Public Hospital Giuseppe Tatarella Cerignola in Foggia, Italy; Founder and trainer of the accredited Italian National Health System, Santa Maria della Pietà Casoria Catholic Hospital, Naples, Italy; and a visiting doctor at Dubai Health Authority, UAE.
