He graduated from Omdurman Islamic University - Sudan in 2005 and joined the teaching staff at the pediatric department in 2006. He was later promoted to lecturer and then assistant professor in 2013. He completed a four-year pediatric residency program and obtained his MD in Pediatrics and Child Health from the Sudan Medical Specialization Board in 2013. He completed two years of subspecialty training in pediatric pulmonology at Red Cross War Memorial Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. He was awarded the fellowship in pediatric pulmonology from the College of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) in 2021, along with a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree from the University of Cape Town.

Dr. Yassin’s expertise covers a wide range of conditions, including childhood asthma treatment in Abu Dhabi, chronic lung diseases, and other breathing disorders. He worked at Mohamed Elamin Hamid Hospital for Children in Sudan as a general pediatrician (2013-2018). He played a pivotal role in establishing pediatric pulmonology services at Ahmed Gasim Pediatric Teaching Hospital in 2021. He also set up the first flexible pediatric bronchoscopy unit in Sudan at Haj Alsafi Hospital in Khartoum in 2023. His extensive experience as a pediatric breathing disorder specialist ensures that children receive expert care for complex respiratory conditions.

In 2018, he became a member of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health – UK (MRCPCH). He was awarded the fellowship in pediatric pulmonology from the College of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) in 2021.
