Dr. Veeraraghavan is a Specialist Gastroenterologist with experience of 13 years in medical field and 5 years experience as a Gastroenterologist.
Dr. Veeraraghavan finished his MBBS from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore. He then completed his MD - Internal Medicine from prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. He then went on to complete DM - Gastroenterology from another prestigious institution Madras Medical College, Chennai. In this time he finished DNB Gastroenterology from New Delhi. In 2016 he also went for a training in Image enhanced endoscopy, Magnified endoscopy, Narrow Band Imaging to detect early GI cancers and also EMR and ESD from the premier institute Osaka International center for cancer, Osaka, Japan with the master Prof.Dr.Noriya Uedo - Vice director, Dept of GI Endoscopy.
He then joined as a Asst professor in Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Puducherry from 2016 to 2018. There he worked under the mentorship of Dr. George Kurian (Gastroenterologist par excellence and Retd HOD CMC Vellore). In PIMS he started doing diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic like OGD scopies, Colonoscopies, EVL, Glue injection, Polypectomies, APC procedures and ERCP. During this tenure he also went for ERCP training to enhance and fine tuning his skills from the master Dr.Malay Sharma from Meerut, India. At that time he developed a passion to work on the field of detection of early GI cancers and removal of it. Hence he joined as Asst professor in Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar, Chennai, India. He worked there to start the services of early GI cancer detection and complete removal of these cancers by endoscopy EMR/ESD procedures. Also along with his collegue he started ERCP and diagnostic and therapeutic EUS services in that institute. Indeed he went on to do this work and presented lot of abstracts in many national and International conferences. Some of the services provided by the doctor are: Upper GI endoscopy, Colonoscopy, EVL, Pooypectomy, Enteroscopy, ERCP, EUS, Early GI cancer detection, ESD, Capsule Endoscopy etc.
He is a member of Indian Society of Gastroenterology, Indian National Association of Study of Liver, Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Association of Physicians of India and Puducherry Gastroenterology Association.
Indeed he went on to do this work and presented lot of abstracts in many national and International conferences.
