Dr. Syed Tanveer Akamal completed his medical degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, India. Later he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore, India. He also completed a fellowship in Cardiology (DM Cardiology) at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research Centre, Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He has more than 10 years of experience in the field of normal and interventional cardiology and he has worked in many international cardiology hospitals as Consultant.
Dr. Tanveer practices Interventional Cardiology and specializes in Coronary Angiogram, Primary and Elective Angioplasty, along with Echocardiography (TTE, TEE), ECG and stress test, outpatient and inpatient supervision and 24 hr ECG Holter monitoring analysis among others.
Prior to joining NMC Specialty Hospital Al Ain, Dr. Tanveer was a consultant in cardiovascular medicine at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
His key area of interest is coronary artery disease, heart failure management, hypertension, valvular/ rheumatic heart disease, arrhythmias.
