Dr. Sonia Kunnummal completed her MBBS from Calicut Medical College, Kerala. She passed her Post Graduation, Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Dermatology from Calicut Medical College, Kerala.
Dr. Sonia Kunnummal has work experience in Dermatology spanning over more than 11 years. She worked as Head of the Department of Dermatology at District Hospital Kannur for 9 years and 2 years at Aster Medical Centre Abushagara, Sharjah. She has extensive experience in Dermatology, Venereology and Paediatric Dermatology and cosmetic procedure like Chemical Peeling, Laser, Radiofrequencey, Electrocautery, Cryo therapy and Mesotherapy.
Her areas of expertise are General Dermatology, Paediatric Dermatology, Cosmetic Dermatology and Venereology. Dr. Sonia was faculty to various training program conducted as part of National Programme under the Health Department in Kannur district. She has worked on a Research Project titled “Cutaneous manifestations of HIV infection and CD4 correlation”.
She had hands on training in various Cosmetology procedures like Chemical Peeling, Lasers, Botox, and Fillers. She has completed level-1 training program under the American Academy of Aesthetic Dermatology for Diploma in Cosmetology.
She keeps herself academically updated with Medical conferences and Continuing Medical Education Program.
She speaks English, Hindi and Malayalam.
