Dr. Shekhar Shikare is a leading expert in Nuclear Medicine with over three decades of experience across India, the UAE, and Europe. He holds an MBBS, a Diploma in Radiation Medicine, and is a Diplomate of the National Board in Nuclear Medicine (India). He is also certified in Nuclear Cardiology (USA) and holds a European Fellowship in Nuclear Medicine.

He has led the development of full-spectrum diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine services at multiple institutions, including Al Zahra Hospital and now NMC Royal Hospital in Sharjah. His expertise spans  SPECT/CT, thyroid and parathyroid imaging, nuclear cardiology, oncology, paediatrics, and neuroendocrine tumour imaging, nephrourology imaging, low and high dose radioactive iodine therapy in benign and neoplastic thyroid diseases.

Dr. Shikare received advanced training at renowned institutions including:

  • Royal Prince Alfred & Royal North Shore Hospitals, Australia
  • Forschungszentrum Julich, Germany

  • University of Münster, GermanyThese experiences refined his skills in PET, SPECT, nuclear cardiology, neuroimaging, and research-based nuclear medicine applications.

  • Delivered over 40 lectures and case presentations across the UAE and India
  • Participated in more than 35 international conferences, including multiple EANM meetings (Europe), UAE Cancer Congress, and IAEA nuclear medicine programs
  • Presented posters and clinical cases in pediatric, cardiac, and oncologic nuclear medicine

Dr. Shikare has published over 45 peer-reviewed articles and case reports in prestigious journals such as IJNM, World Journal of Nuclear Medicine, and European Spine Journal. His work spans hepatobiliary, skeletal, cardiac, and neuro-nuclear imaging.
