Dr. Purnima Thakur is a highly experienced and seasoned doctor, she is a Consultant Obstetrics & Gynaecology at NMC Specialty Hospital, Al Ain. She did her MBBS from Kolkata in India in 1969. She obtained D.Obs, from Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, London in 1973. Later she did her MRCOG and FRCOG from London too.
Dr. Thakur has attended many international workshops and courses on, Gynaecology, Infertility, Gynaecological Microsurgery, Endoscopy and Ultrasound.
Dr. Thakur has had a prolific career of over 40 years in UK, India and the UAE. She has been Senior House Officer at hospitals such as Singleton Hospital, Swansea, UK and University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, UK. She was Registrar at West Wales General Hospital, Carmarthen, UK and Al-Corniche Hospital earlier. She has been Consultant to many reputed institutions and has also held an honorary title of Clinical Assistant Professor with Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University.
