Dr. John Kurian completed his MBBS from Government Medical College Kottayam, Kerala, in 1995, followed by MS in General Surgery in 1998 from the same institute. Later, he worked as Registrar in Urology at Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, Thiruvalla, Kerala, prior to his superspecialisation. He pursued his super-specialisation in Genitourinary Surgery (Urology) from Government Medical College, Kottayam in the year 2004.

After finishing MCh in Urology in 2004, he worked as a Consultant at Mar Baselios Medical Mission Hospital, Kothamangalam, Kerala. In 2006, Dr. John joined as Lecturer at Government Medical College, Thrissur, and until 2012, he was working at Government Medical College, Kottayam as Associate Professor, Department of Urology.

In 2012, he moved to the UAE and joined as a Consultant at the Ministry of Health Hospital in Khorfakkan, Sharjah. In 2016, Dr. John moved to Abu Dhabi, where he joined as a Specialist at Universal Hospital. In 2019, he moved to his current workplace, NMC Specialty Hospital. In addition to his vast experience in Endourology, he was trained in Laparoscopic Urology and was awarded a Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from the University of Strasbourg, France.
