Dr Jim Philip completed his MBBS from the Thrissur Government Medical College, Kerala, India and thereafter his MD in Internal Medicine from Coimbatore Government Medical College, Tamil Nadu, India . Following this he worked as a Registrar in the Department of Endocrinology in the Christian Medical College, Vellore for two years and went on to complete his three year speciality training in DM Endocrinology from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
Dr Jim is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP U.K), and has received the Specialty Certificate in Endocrinology from the Royal College of Physicians (U.K.). He then practiced as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Pushpagiri Medical College Hospital, Kerala, India.
Dr Jim has clinical experience of 18 years and specializes in the treatment of Diabetes Mellitus, Thyroid disorders, Erectile dysfunction, Hypertension, Dyslipidemia, Pituitary disorders, Hypogonadism, Adrenal disorders, Osteoporosis, PCOD and CGMS. His last assignment before joining NMC in 2010, was with Ernakulam Medical Centre where he practiced as a Consultant.
He has published several articles in scientific journals, and he is currently review editor in the Journal, Frontiers in Clinical Diabetes and Health Care. He has participated and given lectures at various medical conferences and seminars.
He also holds the professional membership of the Endocrine Society of India & the Indian Medical Association.
