
Dr. Jayshree Ahirrao-Mutta obtained her MBBS from the Grant Medical College (JJ Hospital) in Mumbai, as well as a post-graduate 'Diploma in Ophthalmology' (DO) from Seth GS Medical College (KEM Hospital, Mumbai) in 2000. She also earned a 'Diplomate in Ophthalmology' (DNB) from the National Board of Examinations in New Delhi in 2003. She did her Fellowship in Glaucoma at Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai in 2011 and also served as a faculty member at the WHO International University of Health and Sciences in Mumbai, teaching undergraduate students.
She has over 16 years of experience in Ophthalmology, including Phaco Emulsification, Glaucoma Surgery (lasers and valve implants), Medical Retina, Ocular Surface Disorders (Limbal Stem Cell and Amniotic Membrane Transplant), Keratoplasties (DALK, DSEK), Keratoprosthetic Surgery (MOOKP), and Strabismus Surgery.
She has spoken at a number of significant conferences and seminars in India. Her papers on 'Amniotic Membrane Transplantation and Non-Penetration Filtration Surgeries' in 2002 and 'Inflammation' at the AIOS conference in Kolkotta in 2010 both won the 'Best Paper Award'.
She is an active member of the American Association of Ophthalmology (AAO), European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), Bombay Ophthalmologists Association (BOA), and an active participant in various CME programmes, seminars, and conferences.
