The investment comes as Sharjah's population has grown by 51% over the past decade to reach 2.13 million residents, according to Sharjah Census 2025, driving increased demand for specialised and community healthcare services.

- Comprehensive Cancer Centre at NMC Royal Hospital Sharjah, providing integrated oncology care, including a dedicated breast unit with a full spectrum of services from diagnosis to reconstruction, advanced nuclear medicine capabilities, supporting diagnostics, treatment planning and specialist treatment.
- Kidney Transplant Centre of Excellence for both living and deceased donors, due to commence in January 2027, in partnership with Marengo Asia Hospitals. Building on NMC Royal Hospital Sharjah’s existing strengths which include nephrology capability, dialysis infrastructure and ICU support, this initiative will strengthen access to advanced renal care in the Northern Emirates and enhance continuity of care for patients with chronic kidney disease.
- Advanced woman and child services including foetal medicine, high risk pregnancy management, VIP maternity rooms, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis, hormone clinic, 24/7 paediatric availability with a range of subspecialities and Paediatric ICU.
- Forthcoming GastroHub, a comprehensive centre dedicated to gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary care for both adults and children.

As Sharjah’s population grows and ages, and demand for advanced care continues to rise across the Northern Emirates, Sharjah has become an increasingly important centre for patients seeking specialised treatment, multidisciplinary expertise and coordinated models of care. NMC’s investment in expanded primary and tertiary-level specialist care aims to support this growing role by strengthening access to clinical services while reducing the need for patients to travel further afield for treatment.
The Comprehensive Cancer Centre provides integrated oncology services through a coordinated multidisciplinary model. Located at NMC Royal Hospital Sharjah, the centre brings together medical oncology, surgical oncology, haematology and haemato-oncology, paediatric oncology, imaging and diagnostics, nuclear medicine and dedicated oncology inpatient services within a comprehensive care pathway, supporting patients across Sharjah and the Northern Emirates and reducing the need to travel to Dubai or Abu Dhabi for complex cancer care.
The hospital is also launching GastroHub, a dedicated digestive healthcare centre designed to provide patients with streamlined access to consultations, diagnostics and treatment planning through an integrated model of care. The centre complements the hospital’s wider medical expertise, which includes a recently upgraded Catheterisation Laboratory supporting cardiac, vascular and neuro-interventional procedures.
In addition to investments in advanced care, NMC has expanded community access through the opening of a new medical centre at Safari Mall in Muweilah, increasing access to primary care and clinical services in one of Sharjah’s fastest-growing residential areas, including Aljada and Tilal City developments.
