Ranjit Bhonsle

Ranjit Bhonsle is a seasoned private equity investor with proven expertise in corporate finance, strategic and tactical planning and transformation, and organisational development and behaviour.

As an active board member, he works closely with management in developing and delivering strategic and tactical plans to ensure sustainable competitive differentiation and to optimize shareholder value either through an IPO or trade sale.

Mr. Bhonsle started his career in 1991 Kidder, Peabody, a USA-based investment bank and then joined Kohlberg & Co, a private equity firm, in 1993 where he served as a general partner until 2001 focused on leveraged buyouts. From 2001 to 2006, as a founder of Ravelin Capital, he focused on growth and buy and build investment opportunities. Mr. Bhonsle joined Ithmar Capital, a Dubai-based private equity firm as a general partner in 2007, where he led or co-led several investments in different industries with a primary focus on healthcare. In 2014, while at Ithmar Capital, he along with his partners founded Amanat Holdings, the largest publicly traded healthcare and education investment company in the Middle East. Since 2018, he has served on Boards of Directors or Executive Committees of notable GCC-based private companies, largely in the healthcare space.

Select previous healthcare Board and Executive Committee memberships included positions at Al Noor Hospitals Group (UAE), and International Medical Centre and Sukoon International (KSA).

His current Board and/or Executive Committee memberships in healthcare are with AMI (KSA), Magrabi Hospitals and Clinics (KSA/Egypt), Africa Eye Foundation (Switzerland), and Alinma Medical Services Co. (KSA); in business services with Dewan Architects & Engineers (UAE), and in energy with ThreeEightSix Renewables Holdings (UAE, KSA).

Mr. Bhonsle obtained a BA-Economics from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 1991 and a Master of Business Administration in 2005 from London Business School.

As part of his NMC Board responsibilities, Mr. Bhonsle is the Co-Chair of the Audit Committee and a member of the Operations & Quality Committee.
