Dr Varun Sharma is a specialist in Neonatology/ Pediatrics with more than 15 years of experience in the field of newborn care. After doing his MBBS and MD Paediatrics in India, he completed his fellowship of two years in Neonatology at University hospital Southampton, United Kingdom under the accreditation of Royal college of Pediatrics and child health, London, UK. He has joined NMC Royal hospital, Khalifa City with a passion to work for excellence in care of newborn.
Dr Varun Sharma is specialised in taking care of extreme preterm babies and sick newborn. He is skilled in all the neonatal procedures, point of care USG and Echocardiography. He has also been trained in simulation for teaching, newborn resuscitation, ethical issues, quality improvement, communication with families, antenatal counselling, neonatal ventilation and nutrition through various workshops and CME. He also attends delivery and transport of extreme preterm babies and sick newborns.
