Dr Basma Bashir is a highly accomplished Family Medicine Consultant with over two decades of experience in the field. She holds an MBChB from Baghdad University, Iraq, and has furthered her education with an MRCGP and CCT from the UK, as well as a DFSRH in Family Planning, Sexual Health, and Contraception from the UK. Dr Basma is licensed by both the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the Department of Health (DOH) in the UAE, and she is also registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK.
Dr Basma’s career has been marked by significant international experience. In the UK, Dr. Basma has worked as a GP with a special interest in women's health at the Begg Practice in London, as well as a GP with Babylon Health's Telehealth Medicine. She has also undertaken numerous locum positions at various GP surgeries across London.
Dr Basma has developed a wide range of skills throughout her career. She is adept at managing both acute and chronic medical and surgical conditions in adults and children. Her professional development includes certifications in joint injections, dermatoscopy, and aesthetic procedures such as Botox and fillers. She has a special interest in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with extensive experience in gynaecological procedures and ring pessary fittings.
Dr Basma is committed to continuous learning and professional development. She regularly updates her skills through training courses. She has contributed to medical literature, with her article “The Full Potential of DNA Testing” published in the April 2023 issue of MEDZINE. Her training includes serving as a GP Registrar at Townhill Medical Practice in Surrey.
