Raihan Shaikh-Khaleel

Raihan Shaikh-Khaleel is a Managing Director at Swinton Capital Advisors, where he specialises in advising investment funds, family offices, secondary market investors and creditor committees with respect to their distressed debt, litigation and claims management, and special situation investments in the EMEA regions.

Mr. Shaikh-Khaleel has close to two decades of experience working with financially distressed companies, with a particular focus on complex financial litigation and trade claims in Europe and cross-border landmark insolvencies, particularly across the GCC. He previously held positions at Shearman and Sterling as a restructuring lawyer and at King Street Capital, focusing on special situations, financial restructuring, distressed claims and litigation management.  He also currently serves as a member on the board and for several portfolio companies, including Smile Telecoms and 966 SARL, where in both cases, he is responsible for restructuring and litigation strategy. He has previously sat on the boards as a board member and advisor for a number of other portfolio companies for investment funds across a wide range of industry sectors both in the GCC and in Europe.

Mr. Shaikh-Khaleel holds a BSC in Investment and Risk Management from the CASS Business School and a post-graduate LLB from City University, London.

Besides serving the all-new ADCB board as a non-executive member, Mr. Shaikh-Khaleel chairs the Restructuring Committee at NMC.
