Before LASIK Surgery
- How long does the LASIK procedure take? The surgery itself typically takes about 10-15 minutes per eye.
- Is LASIK surgery painful? LASIK eye surgery is not painful. Right before your procedure, your surgeon will place numbing eye drops into both of your eyes. While you may still feel a little bit of pressure during the procedure, you won't feel any pain.
- What should I expect during the LASIK procedure? You’ll be awake during the surgery but may be given a mild sedative. The surgeon will use a laser to reshape your cornea while you focus on a light.
- What should I do to prepare for LASIK surgery? Avoid wearing contact lenses for at least two weeks before the surgery, follow any specific instructions from your doctor, and arrange for someone to drive you home afterward.
- How soon can I return to normal activities after LASIK? Many patients experience clearer vision within a day and can resume normal activities within 24-48 hours, though it's recommended to avoid strenuous activities for a few weeks.
After LASIK Surgery
- How soon will I see results after LASIK? Most patients notice improved vision within a few hours or the day after surgery. Full stabilization of vision can take a few weeks.
- Is it normal to experience discomfort after the surgery? Mild discomfort, such as a gritty feeling or dry eyes, is common. These symptoms typically improve within a few days.
- Are there any post-surgery restrictions? You’ll be asked to avoid rubbing your eyes, swimming, or wearing makeup for a few weeks. Sunglasses may be recommended to protect your eyes from sunlight and wind.
- How long do the results of LASIK last? The results are typically permanent, but your vision may change over time due to aging.
- What should I do if I experience vision problems after surgery? If you notice significant vision problems, like blurred or fluctuating vision, contact your surgeon immediately.
- Will I still need glasses or contact lenses after LASIK? Most patients no longer need corrective lenses, but some may need reading glasses later in life due to age-related changes in vision.
- How often do I need follow-up appointments after LASIK? Typically, follow-up visits are scheduled for the first day, one week, one month, and six months after surgery, but your doctor will provide personalized recommendations.

Procedure | About the Procedure | Benefits | Price |
PRESBYOND | Presbyond uses a laser to gently reshape the cornea, correcting both near and distance vision in one treatment. | Corrects both reading and distance vision without the need for glasses. | AED 5500 |
It combines standard laser eye correction with a customized depth-of-focus enhancement to address presbyopia (age-related near vision loss).
SMILE Pro | Minimally Invasive: Uses a tiny incision (about 2-4 mm), so there’s no need for a large flap, making it less invasive than other procedures. | Improved Corneal Integrity: Since the procedure leaves the cornea largely intact, there is less disruption to its structure, which can help maintain the strength and stability of the eye. | AED 7000 |
Femto LASIK Pro | Laser Creates the Flap: Instead of a blade, a laser is used to create a thin flap on the surface of your cornea (the clear part of your eye). | No Blade Involved: Uses a laser instead of a blade to create the corneal flap, reducing the risk of complications. | AED 5000 |
Reshaping the Cornea: Another laser is used to gently reshape the tissue underneath the flap to fix vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. | Higher Precision: Offers more accurate and detailed flap creation, improving overall treatment results.
Ultra LASIK | A thin flap is created on the outer layer of the cornea. | Quick and painless treatment. | AED 2500 |
The laser gently reshapes the underlying tissue of the cornea to correct vision. | Helps fix issues like nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. |
