Dr Shyju Paremal has 17 years of experience in the United Kingdom. In 2009, he completed his Postgraduate qualification in General medicine to achieve MRCP UK, thereafter he completed his 5 year higher specialty training in Gastroenterology and internal medicine at various NHS teaching hospitals to achieve CCT (certificate of completion of training) and MRCP Gastroenterology. In 2019, He was awarded FRCP (Edin) from the Royal College of Physicians Edinburg, UK .
From 2016 to 2022 he worked as a Consultant in Gastroenterologist at The James Cook University teaching Hospital, Middlesbrough, UK. In 2022, he moved to India and continued his practice as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in Kerala.
Dr Shyju deal with variety of digestive disorders, including persistent stomach pain, Irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux, ulcer disease, dyspepsia (gas), bloating, persistent diarrhoea, inflammatory bowel disease, fatty liver disease, and other liver-related problems . He also performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures, including management of upper and lower GI bleeding, varices banding, PEG tube insertion, oesophageal dilatation, polypectomy, etc.
Beyond being a talented physician, Dr Shyju Paremal is an excellent endoscopist, author, and teacher. He has several publications under his belt in British and international journals. He teaches undergraduate students and postgraduate trainees. He is also a certified endoscopy trainer for Gastroenterology registrars and nurse endoscopists.
