Dr. Hassan Elberm brings along overall 25 years of experience in General Surgery. Prior to joining NMC he worked in the United Kingdom as a Consultant General, Laparoscopic, and HPB surgeon for over 12 years at University Hospital Southampton, one of the largest teaching hospitals in the UK, which is also internationally known for its leading Liver, Pancreas, and Biliary (HPB) Surgery tertiary referral centre. He was also the Trauma Lead for General Surgery.
Dr. Hassan was awarded his medical degree (MD) by University of Aleppo in 1999. He completed his surgical training and master’s degree at Aleppo University Hospital. His passion for liver and pancreas surgery led him to the UK where he did several fellowships in Liver and Pancreas Surgery, Liver transplantation, and minimally invasive surgery and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) in 2011.
Dr. Hassan is also passionate about medical education and surgical training, he worked as an educational and clinical supervisor for surgical trainees in the United Kingdom. He is a member of Faculty of Surgical Trainers (FST) and the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO). He published several articles in peer-review journals and is a faculty in a few surgical courses.
