Dr. Tahira Alauddin is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 21 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with extensive expertise in high-risk obstetrics, minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, fertility-preserving surgery and complex gynaecological conditions. 

She holds multiple postgraduate qualifications, including FACOG, MRCOG, DNB, FCPS, DGO and Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (F.MAS). She was the Gold Medalist and topper of her batch in Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery, reflecting her advanced training and academic excellence in minimally invasive surgery. She has also completed postgraduate qualifications in Hospital and Healthcare Management (PGDHHM) and Medico-Legal Systems (PGDMLS). 

Dr. Alauddin is ECFMG-certified and has completed the relevant USMLE examinations required for ECFMG certification as an international medical graduate. She is also registered with the General Medical Council (GMC), United Kingdom, and has held professional registrations in India and the UAE. 

She graduated from Government Grant Medical College and Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals, Mumbai in 2003. She then completed her Diploma in Gynaecology and Obstetrics (DGO) from Mumbai University, L.T.M.M.C and L.T.M.G.H (Sion Hospital), Mumbai in 2007. She continued her studies and obtained a Diplomate in National Board of Examinations (DNB) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2009. She was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, U.K. in 2016. She believes in continuous learning and also completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Hospital and Healthcare Management (PGDHHM) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Medico-Legal Systems (PGDMLS) from Symbiosis Institute, India, in 2010.

Dr. Alauddin has extensive experience in the management of normal and high-risk pregnancies, including pregnancies complicated by medical disorders and obstetric complications. Her expertise includes the care of women with medical conditions during pregnancy, previous multiple Caesarean sections, VBAC after one previous Caesarean, recurrent pregnancy loss, early pregnancy complications and complex obstetric emergencies. 

Her obstetric practice also includes normal vaginal birth, painless labour, operative vaginal delivery with forceps and vacuum where appropriate, External Cephalic Version (ECV) for breech presentation, emergency obstetric management and complex Caesarean deliveries. 

She has extensive experience in gynaecological surgery, including complex benign gynaecological conditions and minimally invasive procedures. Her laparoscopic and hysteroscopic practice includes the management of fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, ovarian torsion, ectopic pregnancy, endometrial polyps, abnormal uterine bleeding and other intrauterine pathology.

She has a particular interest in fertility-enhancing, fertility-preserving and uterus-preserving surgery, including hysteroscopic treatment of fibroids and intrauterine pathology and laparoscopic myomectomy, with the aim of preserving reproductive potential whenever clinically appropriate.

Her surgical expertise also includes laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures, laparoscopic management of endometriosis and ovarian cysts, hysterectomy by vaginal, abdominal and laparoscopic approaches, as well as the management of difficult and complex gynaecological surgical cases. 

She has wide experience in infertility and reproductive health, as well as the management of early pregnancy complications including miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy and molar pregnancy. 

Dr. Alauddin also provides comprehensive women's health services including menstrual disorders, PCOS, cervical and breast cancer screening, HPV-related conditions and colposcopy, with an emphasis on evidence-based counselling and shared decision-making. 

Dr. Alauddin is actively involved in medical education, academic activities, clinical governance, quality improvement and healthcare leadership. She has been invited as a speaker at multiple national and international conferences and has received awards and distinctions for academic presentations, including recognition for scientific paper and abstract presentations. 

She contributes to the peer-review process for international medical literature, including the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (BJOG) and the International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics (IJGO), the official journal of FIGO. She has also participated in the review of scientific abstracts for the RCOG World Congress. 

She leads the Journal Club at NMC Royal Hospital, contributes to clinical guideline development and quality-improvement initiatives, and has completed the NMC Leadership & Management Development Programme (ILM Level 5).

She is also a PROMPT Maternity UK Trainer, contributing to multidisciplinary education and training in safe maternity care and emergency obstetric management. 

Dr. Alauddin is passionate about being a facilitator of women's health and well-being. Her approach combines extensive clinical and surgical experience with evidence-based practice, patient education and shared decision-making, with particular emphasis on safe high-risk pregnancy care, minimally invasive surgery and preservation of fertility and the uterus whenever clinically appropriate. 

She loves teaching and has delivered lectures during many national and international conferences. She also has many awards and distinctions to her credit. She received first prize for best paper presentation in the Annual Mumbai Obstetrics and Gynaecological society Congress during her graduation. She has also been a guest speaker at the annual Fujairah conference twice. She was awarded first prize for her abstract during the MENA Women's Health Conference - 2018 in Dubai. She was the gold medallist topper of her batch in Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery from WALS. She has also been a clinical examiner for MRCOG part 3 since 2022.
