Dr. Nikunj Gupta completed his MBBS and MS General Surgery from the prestigious BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad and NHLM Medical College, Ahmedabad respectively. He went on to complete his M.Ch in Surgical Gastroenterology from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow (SGPGIMS), one of the premier institutes in India after securing All India Rank No. 1 in its entrance exam.
Dr. Nikunj did his fellowships in basic (Fellowship course of Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, FIAGES) and advanced laparoscopic surgery (Fellowship course in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, FALS). He has performed many basic and advanced laparoscopic procedures for benign and malignant conditions.
Dr. Nikunj's key area of interests are Bariatric Surgery (laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy/gastric bypass), Laparoscopic upper gastrointestinal procedures (Fundoplication, Hiatal hernia repair, Thoraco-laparoscopic esophagectomy, gastrectomy), Laparoscopic colorectal Surgery (colectomy, anterior resection, abdominoperineal resection, Total proctocolectomy with ileal pouch anal anastomosis), Hepatopancreatic biliary surgery (hepatectomy, Whipple’s procedure, porto-systemic shunts etc), GI Oncology, Basic laparoscopic procedures (hernia, gall bladder etc.).
He has presented his work at various international conferences and has publications in national and international journals.
He is fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Gujarati.
