
Dr Mohammed Masuood has joined us at NMC Royal Hospital, Khalifa City Abu Dhabi from Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Abu Dhabi. He completed his Arab Board Neurosurgical Residency, which is 6 years structured Neurosurgical training program from Hamad Medical General Hospital, Doha, Qatar, which is one of the most prestigious teaching institutions in the middle east equipped with ultra-modern facilities and sophisticated technologies.
Dr Masuood Completed his MBBS degree from Al Ameen Medical College, Karnataka University Dharwad, India, in 1995. He holds MRCS (Ireland), Arab board in Neurosurgery and Jordanian Board in Neurosurgery.
He has complete Arab Spine Diploma from Dubai, UAE and Lateral Skull Base Diploma fellowship program from M.S Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore, India.
Dr Masuood has worked as Senior Specialist Neurosurgeon in King Fahad Hospital, Madina Al Munawwarah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, teaching hospital, for Tabia University, Madina and Saudi board Neurosurgery Residency training program, where he was involved in academic activities, teaching the MBBS students from Taiba University and Saudi Board Neurosurgery Residents. He was an examiner for the MBBS final year surgical students as well. King Fahad Hospital was receiving number of pilgrim patients as well as patients all over the Madina Province.
Dr Masuood’s key areas of interest are skull base surgeries, brain tumours, craniosynostosis, hydrocephalus, spinal tumour, spine degenerative diseases and spine trauma. He performs minimally invasive spine surgeries including microscopic cervical discectomy, microscopic/ endoscopic lumbar discectomy, cervical fixation, lumbar fusion procedures and minimally invasive procedures, spine fixation for degenerative spine diseases as well as for traumatic spine injury. He is expert in treating facet joints origin chronic back and neck pain without surgery with radiofrequency and steroid injections under image guidance. Dr Masuood has performed thousands of these procedures successfully.
Dr Masuood holds membership of several prestigious professional bodies including the European Association of Neurological Surgeons (EANS), World Federation of Neurosurgical societies (WFNS), North American Spine Society and Congress of Neurological Sciences, USA.
Dr Masuood has worked in Ahalia Hospital, Mussafah, Abu Dhabi as Head of Neurosurgery Department, before moving to Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi.
Dr Masuood speaks English, Urdu Hindi, Arabic, and Kannada.
