Dr. Karvendhan Ramasamy received his MBBS from Madras Medical College, Chennai, India, in 2002. In 2006, he completed his master’s degree in Paediatrics from the University College of Medical Science, India, and thereafter completed his doctorate in Neonatology from the Institute of Child Health, Madras Medical College, India. With his extensive training and clinical experience, Dr. Karvendhan is widely regarded as one of the best neonatologists in Abu Dhabi. He is a trusted neonatology specialist in Abu Dhabi, known for his dedication to neonatal care and patient-centered approach. Dr. Karvendhan started his medical practice as a Senior Resident in Paediatrics at the University College of Medical Science and thereafter worked at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), where he gained extensive experience in neonatal and paediatric intensive care units. He also worked at Madras Medical College as a Paediatric Neonatologist.
Dr. Karvendhan’s special interests include resuscitation and management of extremely low gestation age newborns and their neurodevelopmental follow-up, neonatal ventilation – gentle ventilation/lung protective strategies, optimal nutrition of preterm infants, and family-centered NICU care. He possesses exceptional clinical skills and can perform invasive and non-invasive ventilation of newborn babies, parenteral nutrition through long lines, echocardiograms, and cranial ultrasounds in critically ill babies.
