Lavya Jose began her career as a speech language pathologist in 2006. Finishing her masters in audiology and speech language pathology (MASLP) from Manipal University, India in 2012, she has worked across various clinical settings in India, Qatar and UAE. Working with both adult and pediatric patients. She has special interest in Autism and ADHD. The assessment methodology Lavya developed in her research on Communication Acts and Functions in children with Autism is still in use today at her former university in India.
Having a strong multicultural background Lavya provides therapy in English, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and basic Arabic. She is also certified in 3-part treatment for oral placement therapy talk tool level -1, introduction to PROMPT for articulation, and has done foundation in Makaton for professionals.
At NMC Royal Hosital – Khalifa City, Lavya is keen to support patients by accurately diagnosing their problems and provide the most up to date treatment. She feels privileged to help children reach their potential while upskilling parents to provide critical support in the home environment. She loves being a part of the healing journey and is always available for her patients.
Lavya says, "The selfless acts and kindness of my parents towards the needy influenced me from childhood and that instilled me to go into a profession where I can make a difference in people's lives. I love working with children and their families. I treat each one of my patients as my own family so even the smallest measure of progress gives me immense joy".
