Dr. Hussam completed his Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery (MBBcH) from Tripoli University, Libya and Member of Royal College of Physicians (MRCP – UK) from the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh, UK and MSc Health Science (Diabetes) from Warwick University, UK. He also completed MRCP in Endocrine from Royal College of Physicians, UK and CCT Diabetes & Endocrinology from the General Medical Council, UK. 


Dr. Hussam’s work experience spans 7 years in United Kingdom namely as a Consultant in Prince Charles Hospital, Wales and Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Wales in the United Kingdom. During this period, he has had 5 years of specialty training Diabetes and Endocrine. 


Dr. Hussam’s area of expertise includes dealing with Adult type 1 & 2 Diabetes, Diabetic foot, Paediatric endocrine, Lipids metabolism, Fertility, Transitional Diabetes and Post pituitary surgical patients. 


Dr. Hussam is a member of Welsh Endocrine and Diabetes Society (WEDS), British Endocrine Society (BES), Diabetes UK (DUK), European Society of Endocrine (ESE) and Royal College of Physicians-Edinburgh (RCP-Edinburgh).


Dr. Hussam has completed several courses namely National training scheme for the use of radioiodine in benign thyroid disease, Thyroid and calcium metabolism, Critical Appraisal Course, Advanced Life Support (ALS), Insulin pump workshop, Diabetes Education and Self-Management for Ongoing and Newly Diagnosed (DESMOND) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).


Dr. Hussam has several presentations and publications to his name.
