Dr. Azizunnisa Shaikh is an obstetrician & gynaecologist with a particular interest in foetal and maternal problems. Her main areas of interest are medical disorders in pregnancy, foetal medicine, critical care in obstetrics and medical/surgical management of benign gynaecological conditions such as fibroids, uterovaginal prolapse and management of menstrual disorders.



Dr. Azizunnisa moved from London to the UAE in 2006 and joined Corniche Hospital as a Consultant Obs & Gyn until April 2009. She established foetal medicine services and provided maternal medicine care especially looking after neurological and respiratory problems in pregnancy.



She obtained her medical degree in Pakistan in 1982 and joined the Pakistan Army for two years as a medical practitioner. She did her MCPS at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in 1989. She moved to the UK in 1992 and worked in many hospitals in London such as Whipps Cross, Homerton Hospital, West Middlesex Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Adinbrooks Hospital, Cambridge. She did her MRCOG in 1998 from RCOG London. She also completed her CCST in Feb 2006.



She has acquired her advanced training skill modules in maternal medicine, fetal medicine and emergency gynaecology accredited from the RCOG London.



Dr. Azizunnisa speaks English, Hindi & Urdu.
