Dr. Ashrat Hussain Mir has obtained his MBBS from the Government Medical College, Srinagar, The University of Kashmir. He later obtained his M.D. (Anaesthesiology) from the same institution.

Dr. Ashrat has over 10 years of experience as an Anaesthesiologist. He started his professional journey as a Junior Resident Doctor at the Government Medical College and Associated Hospital in Srinagar, India. He worked there for 2 years before joining J&K Health Services in Kashmir as a General Practitioner. Then, in 2002 Dr. Ashrat became the PG Scholar with the Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals in Srinagar, Kashmir. He spent 3 years before becoming the Senior Resident of Anaesthetist in the same organisation. In 2008, Dr. Ashrat became a Consultant Anaesthetist with Ahmad Hospital Nowgam Srinagar. Then, prior to joining NMC Healthcare, Dr. Ashrat was a Consultant Anaesthetist with Sheri-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Medical College in Srinagar, J&K, India.

Dr. Ashrat is an Associate Member of American Society of Interventional Pain Management (ASIPP). He is also an active member of Indian Medical Association (IMA) as Secretary SKIMS MC-Bemina Branch.

Dr. Ashrat also has many research publications under his belt.

Dr. Ashrat is well versed in English, Urdu, Hindi and Arabic.
