Dr Tahira Alauddin is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 18 years of experience in women’s health. She has been in UAE for over 7 years and has worked in a leading private hospital in Al Ain and in Ministry of Health, Sharjah.



Dr Tahira comes with a rich experience and specializes in normal deliveries, painless labour, forceps and vacuum vaginal delivery, External Cephalic Version (ECV) for breech facilitating Normal delivery. She has meticulous surgical experience and is expert in performing difficult surgeries, including cases of multiple prior caesareans, benign Gynaecological surgeries for ovarian cysts, torsions, endometriosis and hysterectomies (vaginal, abdominal and laparoscopic). She has a wide experience in handling infertility cases and early pregnancy complications like miscarriages, ectopic, and molar pregnancy. She comes from a background where obstetrics emergency cases were performed routinely and has thus mastered emergency obstetrics and high-risk pregnancy and caesarean cases.



She provides sound counselling advice to women for cancer screening and believes in complete involvement of the patient at each and every step of her treatment and facilitating her decision making. She believes in educating the patient and that every woman has the right to make decisions based on her available choices, if given the right support.



Dr Tahira is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FACOG), Member of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) – United Kingdom, General Medical Council – UK, Member of Society for Maternal and Foetal Medicine (SMFM) - USA, Fellow of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Bombay (FCPS) - India and Member of Federation of Obstetric & Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI). She holds multiple licenses including Medical Council of India (MCI), Department of Health (DOH), Abu Dhabi, Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), Sharjah and General Medical Council (UK).



She graduated from Government Grant Medical College and Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals, Mumbai in 2003. She then completed her Diploma in Gynaecology and Obstetrics (DGO) from Mumbai University, L.T.M.M.C and L.T.M.G.H (Sion Hospital) Mumbai in 2007. She continued her studies and obtained Diplomate in National Board of Examinations (DNB) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2009. She was awarded Membership of the Royal college of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, U.K in 2016. She believes in continuous learning and also completed Post-Graduate Diploma in Hospital and Healthcare Management (PGDHHM) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Medico-Legal Systems (PGDMLS) from Symbiosis Institute, India in 2010.



She loves teaching and has delivered lectures during many national and international conferences. She also has many awards and distinctions to her credit. She received first prize for best paper presentation in the Annual Mumbai obstetrics and Gynaecological society Congress during her graduation. She also has been guest speaker in annual Fujairah conference twice. She was awarded first prize for her abstract during MENA Women's Health Conference - 2018 in Dubai. She was the gold medallist topper of her batch in Fellowship in minimal access Surgery from WALS. She is also a clinical examiner for MRCOG part 3 since 2022.



Dr Tahira speaks English, Urdu, Arabic, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Konkani and Gujarati.
