Dr. Surjya completed his MBBS in 2001 from Assam Medical College, Assam, India, followed by MD-Anaesthesiology in 2006 from Gauhati Medical College, Guwahati, Assam, India. He has also completed an IAPC certificate course in 2009 from Indian Association of Palliative Care and is a certified ATLS provider.
Dr. Surjya has worked as Senior Residence in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, in the field of onco-anaesthesia, ICU, Pain and Palliative Care. He had worked and trained in medical ICU in Apollo Hospitals, New-Delhi as Registrar. He has also worked in Kuwait for about 4 years as anaesthesiologist and intensivist in a 1000 bedded tertiary care hospital.
Dr. Surjya expertise lies in difficult airway management, anaesthesia for bariatric surgeries, labour analgesia and obstetric regional anaesthesia, ultrasonography in regional anaesthesia, interventional pain management in chronic pain, cancer pain and palliative care management, trauma resuscitation and management, intensive care and advanced haemodynamic monitoring.
Dr. Surjya has published more than 25 articles in many internationals journals and is a reviewer in many international index journals. He has worked as sub-investigator in multicentric multinational clinical trials.
Dr. Surjya can speak English, Hindi, Bengali, Nepali and Assamese.
