Dr. Jayshree Ahirrao-Mutta holds MBBS from prestigious Grant Medical College (JJ Hospital) in Mumbai, and her post-graduate ‘Diploma in Ophthalmology' (DO) from Seth GS Medical College (KEM Hospital, Mumbai) in the year 2000. She also received her ‘Diplomate in Ophthalmology' (DNB) from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi in 2003. She successfully completed her Short-term Fellowship in Glaucoma from Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai in 2011. Also, she taught under-graduate students affiliates with the WHO International University of Health and Sciences in Mumbai as a faculty.

She has a vast experience of over 16 years in Ophthalmology including Phaco Emulsification, Glaucoma Surgeries (lasers and valve implant), Medical Retina, Ocular Surface Disorders (Limbal Stem cell and Amniotic membrane transplant), Keratoplasties (DALK, DSEK), Keratoprosthetic Surgery (MOOKP) and Strabismus Surgery.

She has presented at numerous key conferences and seminars in India. Her paper on ‘Amniotic Membrane Transplantation and Non-Penetration Filtration Surgeries’ in 2002 and a paper on ‘Inflammation’ at the AIOS conference in Kolkotta in 2010 received the ‘Best Paper Award’.

She is an active member of the American Association of Ophthalmology (AAO), European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), Bombay Ophthalmologists Association (BOA), and an active participant in various CME program, Seminars, Conferences and workshops at regional and national levels.
