Dr. Jay Kalliath earned his MBBS from Thrissur Medical College, Kerala India and M.S (Ophthalmology) from Madurai Medical College, Madurai, India. Dr. Jay did his Fellowship in Management of Medical and Surgical Diseases of Retina & Vitreous from the prestigious Aravind Eye Hospital & Postgraduate Institute of Ophthalmology, Madurai. He is a fellow of Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.



He has more than 15 years of experience in surgical and medical retina. He has performed more than 2500 vitreo-retinal surgeries independently. He has 7 research publications in peer reviewed international journals. He has delivered faculty lectures at various national and international conferences.



Dr. Jay is proficient in




  • Diagnosis, investigation and management of various vitreo-retinal diseases.

  • Fundus fluorescein angiography, OCT, B scan ultrasound, electroretinography, visually evoked potential & electro oculogram tests.

  • Laser procedures like pan retinal photocoagulation, focal, grid, barrage, yag hyaloidotomy, capsulotomy and laser for Retinopathy of Prematurity(ROP),

  • Surgical procedures like pneumoretinopexy, scleral buckle for retinal detachment, vitrectomy for retinal detachments, vitreous haemorrhage, diabetic tractional retinal detachments, endophthalmitis, macular hole, epiretinal membrane, scleral fixated lens implantation and lensectomy, intravitreal injections and implants.



Dr. Jay has special interest in diabetic Retinopathy, ROP, retinal detachment and macular holes.



He can speak English, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi.
