A sneak peek into the glorious journey!
With a proud heritage of 38 years in the UAE and almost as old as the 42-year-old glorious nation, it’s interesting to know that the New Medical Centre (NMC) commenced its operations as a small pharmacy and clinic in Abu Dhabi in 1975! After almost four splendid decades, NMC Healthcare has now become one of the largest private healthcare providers in the UAE with over 23 specialties, 5,000 healthcare professionals and touching over 1.8 million lives each year.
Cardiologists are now advising heart patients with prosthetic mitral valves in their hearts to undergo routine blood tests and be aware of taking blood thinning medications to avoid valve replacement surgeries and other complications.
Though cases of Artificial Valve Clotting (Prosthetic Valve Thrombosis: PVT) is rare, it is not uncommon. Doctors suggested that a valve replacement surgery can be very risky to the patient and there would be only a 50 per cent chance of survival if a relapse were to occur.
