Dr Arunkumar Kunhiraman completed his MBBS from Calicut Medical College, India and his MD in Anesthesia from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India. He subsequently got his Diploma in Regional Anesthesia from the Montepilliar University, France and also did a Fellowship course in Ultrasound Guided Nerve Blocks from Jubilee Mission Medical College, Thrissur, India.
Prior to joining NMC Royal Hospital, Sharjah, Dr Arun had worked as Consultant Anesthetist at Indira Gandhi Cooperative Hospital and Malabar Cancer Center in Kerala, India for sixteen years. Subsequently between September 2014 and February 2019, he worked as Specialist in Anesthesia at International Modern Hospital, Dubai. Dr Arun brings vast experience and expertise in providing General Anesthesia and Regional Anesthesia for most types of surgeries to all age groups including neonates and infants. He is adept in providing Labor Epidural Analgesia for Painless Labor and is an authority in Difficult Airway Management. He is well experienced in Truncal and Peripheral Nerve Blocks – both Landmark and Ultrasound Guided.
Dr Arun is an active member of IMA (Indian Medical Association) and ISA (Indian Society of Anesthetists). He had earlier served as Secretary and President of the Kannur branch of ISA.
