One of the UAE's largest distributors ‐ NMC Trading, starts distribution of medicines to pharmacies in Abu Dhabi.
Along with the burgeoning oil and gas industry in Abu Dhabi, NMC expands into a medical centre and eventually a hospital during the period 1981-1990

1989

NMC Trading diversifies into FMCG products by winning the exclusive agency for distributing NIVEA in the UAE

1996

NMC expands into the emirate of Sharjah by setting up New Medical Centre

1999

NMC opens its first hospital in Deira, Dubai

2004

NMC sets up its most advanced hospital to date ‐ NMC Specialty Hospital, Al Nahda, Dubai

2008

NMC expands into the beautiful garden city of Al Ain with NMC Specialty Hospital, Al Ain

2009

NMC Specialty Hospitals in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain area awarded the prestigious JCI accreditation

2012

NMC becomes the first Abu Dhabi company to be listed on the London Stock Exchange as NMC Health plc. NMC is part of the FTSE 250 index and is listed on the premium segment of the LSE.
NMC acquires its first day surgery centre, the elite BR Medical Suites, Dubai Healthcare City.
NMC is selected to operate and manage the prestigious 260 room Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital, Umm al Quwain in November.

NMC Healthcare opens new Medical Centre in Al Ain

2015

NMC Health plc acquires Clinica Eugin, a leading global fertility centre in February 2015.
NMC Health plc announces two strategic acquisitions of two UAE based healthcare services providers, Americare Group and Dr. Sunny Healthcare Group.
The pioneer in long term acute care in the country, ProVita joins the NMC family in June 2015.
NMC enters into an agreement to acquire a 51% shareholding in Fakih IVF Group. This acquisition confirms the NMC Maternity & Fertility vertical's global market position, as one of the leading international providers of fertility treatment services.

2016

NMC opens NMC Royal Hospital, Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi. A 500 bed, state-of-the-art healthcare experience for all the patients at every level.
NMC enters Saudi Arabian Market. It announces another strategic expansion within its Long-term & Home care vertical and confirms the NMC's market position, as the leading regional provider of long-term care services.
NMC announces the acquisition of one of the leading and most reputable hospitals in the UAE, the Al Zahra Hospital, Sharjah. It expands the Group's reach within the region through addition of one of the largest hospitals to its portfolio with top-in-class offering, track-record and brand.

2017

NMC became the first company from Abu Dhabi to list on the London Stock Exchange in 2012 and is now part of the premium FTSE 100 Index, a share index of 100 companies with the highest market capitalisation.

2018

NMC acquires outstanding 49% minority stake in Fakih IVF at approximately same enterprise value as original acquisition cost set in 2015.
NMC acquires 70 percent stake in CosmeSurge, a cosmetic surgery and aesthetic medicine provider.
NMC acquires 80 percent stake in the Riyadh-based Al Salam Medical Group.
NMC's Fertility vertical - Fakih IVF, the leading fertility services provider in the Middle East region, opens its new fertility center in Muscat, Oman.

2020

Before going for delisting in April 2020, NMC had enjoyed the recognition as the first company from Abu Dhabi to list on the London Stock Exchange and becoming a part of the premium FTSE 100 Index, an elite club of the top 100 blue-chip companies by market cap.
